On July 9, 2021, the inaugural meeting of the Youth League under the China Africa Water Association and The first China-africa Symposium on water issues was held on ZOOM.

The conference was organized by the Youth League under the China Africa Water Association and jointly undertaken by State Key Laboratory of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Science, Wuhan University and SRTA-City (City of Scientific Research & Technological Application) of Egypt. Thirty famous young experts in the field of water science from 25 universities and research institutions in China, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Wuhan University and Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as 16 experts from 7 African countries, including Egypt, South Africa, Sudan and Malawi, were invited to attend the conference.
